Currently I'm working on a website where the user can send a candle to someone. I want to make the flame as realistic as possible. This is how far I got with Flint: http://gertjan.com/flame_test.html (for some reason the followmouse only works with mousedown in the browser)
It doesn't look bad, but I still, I'd like some input :)

That looks excellent. I hesitate to suggest anything since it's so good already, but you might like to try adding small and variable crosswinds to simulate flickering in a breeze - perhaps a small ...

I tweaked it some more, the only thing now is the performance.

I tweaked it some more, the only thing now is the performance. There are two emitters in each flame, a center emitter (the white particles) and one for the background, the yellow/orange one. The background uses 25 particles, the center uses 15 (both Steady emitters). The container of both flames has a blurfilter ( 2, 2, 1 ) on it.
Any tips (especially on performance) are welcome :)
(ps: it's for a big candle producer, should be going live somewhere in january) (ps2: oyeah, there are some issues with the self-combustion candle, i'll fix that, it's driving me crazy, waaaa :D)]]>
