   call it a crazy shot in the dark, but are there any programs in connection with Flint out there that can take a series of snapshots of some applied Flint effects and save them as pngs (with alpha)?
   Got an excellent explosion effect working on some bitmapData but unfortunately the thing is just too damn slow so I though I'd go the prerendered way.

   You can use as3corelibs to convert bitmapData to a png (or jpg) http://code.google.com/p/as3corelib/
   I've never used it and apparently you'll either need some server side code or use AIR to be able to save the files out but it is possible.
