    I am in the process if trying to make a large cool background with your particle system. Is there a way to dynamically change the size of the renderer? I have tried a bunch of things that seem to be changing the size, yet the particle emitters dont seem to be updating to the new size.

    Kudo's on the system btw.

    Use the canvas property of the renderer like this:

    renderer.canvas=new Rectangle( x, y, w, h ) ;

    If you want the particles themself to get bigger, set the scaleX and scaleY on the renderer. If you want the effect to cover a bigger area but remain the same scale, set the renderer's canvas as ozgur said above.
