And if so, is it also achievable in 3d?

Flint doesn't have enything exactly like Waypoints, but since Stardust is based on the same package structure and architecture as Flint, it should be fairly easy to port the Stardust ...
Flint doesn't have enything exactly like Waypoints, but since Stardust is based on the same package structure and architecture as Flint, it should be fairly easy to port the Stardust FollowWaypoints action to Flint. Alternatively, chaining together TweenToZone actions, as in the LogoTween example could achieve something similar, although not exactly the same.
