How do I?: Use PV3DParticleRenderer to render an effect of lines bursting.

Hi everyone, Thanks to richard for this fabulous particle system.
I am trying to make PV3DParticleRenderer to render an effect of lines bursting from a point of origin. Any ideas/directions?

Also, I am trying to create a particle system for my project and I cant seem to get any documentation regarding to making particle trails without using bitmap effect layer. Is it just plain impossible, if not could any one please point me in the right direction?

When you use the PV3DParticleRenderer you're limited, and facilitated, by what Papervision3d is capable of. If there is a way within Papervision3d to create trails then you should be able to apply it to a Flint particle effect. I'm not aware of such a technique, but then I'm not an expert on Papervision3d. You might have more luck asking on the Papervision3d mailing list.
