I would like the particles to roughly follow the same path but to look like one long line or stream rather than individual dots.

I have had the most success in my experiments using a RadialDot combined with a blur filter and using a SinWave counter. This looks ok but still to much like individual pulses rather than one constant stream. Obviously you can make the counter amount higher but this creates issues with the frame rate.

Any ideas of how to create this effect?

Thanks

One thought - if you use a PixelRenderer instead of a BitmapRenderer your particles will only be one pixel wide but you can create many more of them because the PixelRenderer is more efficient (it doesn't use the image but instead just draws a single dot where the particle is). This may help with the effect you're after.]]>
