I have ported a marjority of Flint 1.0.3 (2D version) to C#. I have most of the 2D examples working in a demo using a basic GDI renderer (System.Graphics). Although there are a couple of bugs at the moment that need ironing out. I've e-mailed Richard about the C# port and he suggested that I post here about it to see if people were interested in helping maintain it on the SVN.
The reason I started the port at version 1.0.3 was because the introduction of 3D creates differences in the languages that needs to be separated out. There are several different graphics libraries to use in C# like GDI, XNA, SlimDX, MDX etc. So I think they will need their own renderers and possibly new projects altogether. I am quite sure there would be interest in an XNA specific port of Flint for example and that would mean portions of the code base would need to change to accomodate that (eg. using the XNA's Vector3 structure for example) and adding the 3D specific code Richard is working on aswell.
So is anyone interested in a C# port of Flint? -

I might be able to help out - I'm the author of Mercury particle engine, one of the more popular tools in the XNA community. Let me know if there's anything I can do! -

Thanks for the reply Jams! Your help and experience would especially be of value.
What I am doing now is cleaning up my code a bit and getting it ready to put on the SVN. When there is something up I'll make another post. -

I've uploaded Ben's (headkaze) code to a new Google repository at http://code.google.com/p/flint-sharp/. I set up a new project at Google Code to avoid confusion between the C# and AS3 versions, and to enable different people to have check-in rights for each project. Although I'm the project owner of this C# port, most of my time will be devoted to the Actionscript version. Ben doesn't feel he has the time to own the project going forwards, although I for one hope he'll still contribute to it. Maybe later someone else will take charge, but for now I'll oversee where necessary but leave most of the C# coding to others.
I'll set Ben up as a project member. Jams, please do take a look at the code and if you have the time and want to work on it, let me know so I can make you a project member too - I know Ben would love the help. I'll need your Google username to set you up as a project member - whisper it if you don't want other people and spammers to see it. -

Hey Richard did Jams ever get back to you? I'm thinking I might e-mail him or something as I would like to get his feedback on the port. -
