For a person who is new to flint which version would you recommend to start with?
Do I need to learn the first version in order for me to learn 2.0?
Is there a big difference in between the two versions?
Thanks,

There's not a great deal of difference in the architecture between the two - the main difference is how you connect emitters to renderers. The big difference, obviously, is that 2.0 does 3D stuff.
Which to use (assuming you don't need 3D) probably depends on your assessment of the following facts- The 2D stuff in 2.0 alpha seems as stable as the 2D stuff in 1.0.4, but hasn't been used as thoroughly so there may be a few bugs yet to find.
- 2.0 has some new features, like improved physics and the ability to display multiple emitters in a single renderer
- The snowfall tutorial for beginners is for 1.0.4
- 2.0 final should be out by the end of this month, or thereabouts.
